Gratuitous fabulous jewelry pic

Marc Newson's "Julia" necklace for Boucheron. Marc Newson, being the design ingenue that he is, based this design on fractals, mathematical formulae of structures. This particular one is based on a formula discovered by mathematician Gaston Julia.

This one-off piece is made from 2000 pieces of sapphires and diamonds, and took the people at Boucheron 1500 man-hours to put together. Please click here to see it in all its close-up glory.
