Gratuitous fabulous jewelry pic

Rings by Thakoon (Yes, Thakoon the clothes guy) for Tasaki Jewelry.
Genius!
N.B. You might have to twiddle you thumbs a bit while the link to Tasaki loads. But it's worth the wait. ;)

Un-Bali-ed Hair

Maya took the risk of going to school with Bali-ed hair, which is not allowed (due to reasons unfathomable to me).

She was 3 days into her "crime", when she had the bad luck of bumping into the Discipline Mistress, who issued a stern warning. Oh well, it was beginning to smell anyway... :S

Ruhi's scalp was actually sunburnt and flaking along the rows. And it was beginning to smell too... :S

Scenes from Bali

Bali, needless to say, was amazing.

We stayed in Kuta, and travelled around a bit to see some famous temples, caught a couple of traditional dance performances, and drove all the way up to a hilltop village where you can pick your own strawberries and eat them. On the way, the view was out-of-this-world.

The only thing we didn't get to do was visit the volcanoes. Oh well, next time... :)

New stuff at Etsy

In addition to the red coral and turquoise blue Sunbursts, here's a Satine Pink Swarovski crystal version.

I am really happy about its glam factor with the lovely Swarovski bling. And how the design concept of the Sunburst lends the bling a subtle touch, coz the crystals are placed in intervals and the look does not get OTT.

And this lovely neo-bohemian number is something completely new. I thought I'd venture into something rather contemporary and Zen.

Instead of crafting the frame round a jig, I first crafted the hoop round, and then hand-squashed it oval. I love how it turns out with a more artisanal feel, rather than a mass-manufactured look. The faceted blue quartz is a mesmerizing ash-grey blue, and the entire piece is just a dream... :)

September Giveaway Result

A thousand apologies, folks, for the late post. We were on a beach getaway in the lovely island of Bali, and like any self-respecting beach getaway, internet connection was not readily available.

So here's Maya, with a head full of evidence of a Bali holiday, doing the honours this month.

And the winner is...

Congratulations, Payal! Please email me your mailing address, and your prize will be on its way! :)

Thank you so much everyone for playing! It has been really good fun. Hope to see you around the blog AND at next month's Giveaway!

Acquisition!

Straight off my Lust List! Bartered with 2 pairs of earrings!! :D

The lovely maker of this dress, Kasey, kindly agreed to the exchange, and now she's enjoying 2 pairs of MAYA & RUHI off the Etsy shop, and I'm practically dancing around in this little cutie number.

Yes, I am a very happy bunny. :)

And I am this close to getting the red version...

Monthly Giveaway

Amongst a slew of new Baby and Mini Klimts, a whole bunch of these little Bird's Nests are part of my latest shipment to KL -- taking off sometime this week as soon as I am done with the sweat-inducing paperwork. In non-tarnish brass and silver, and a plethora of colours (malachite, amethyst, turquoise, pearl, etc.), though not in this particular one...

This giveaway number is of hemimorphite, which has a rather hypnotic hue of powdery electric blue. You gotta see it to believe it. Hemimorphite is pretty gorgeous. And according to crystal lore, it's an all-round "good luck" stone that lifts the spirits and promotes self-esteem. (Something I seriously lack when it comes to paperwork...)

Just leave a comment at this post if you are interested in receiving these for free! The winner will be announced on September 7th's post, so you have until then to leave your comment... Good luck!
