I'm exploring the "mosaic" concept of colour, a splish-splash, mix-match, hodge-podge of hues. I really like playing with wire-wrapping - it's organic yet urban, with a sophisticated bohemian feel.

These will be listed at my Etsy shop very soon... :) As soon as I get out of this crafting craze...

Decluttering

Again, I have the urge to clear up my workspace, but don't know where to start. Even if I started, I wouldn't know to put what where...

I need to do some research, gain some confidence, and basically get my arse in gear, I think. Too much planning to plan has always scared the daylights out of me. I should just start tidying up, without the pressure of having to succeed at tidying. No?

Good grief. *sigh*

Shanghai's glorious past: Art Deco cool

Pudong's Food Street...

... where an apparently famous "xiao long bao" shop is, right at the end. This "xiao long bao" is fried to a crisp only at the bottom, which makes it even more tasty, as the crispy part also serves to contain the "soup". What a yummy idea!

But I'm not one for street food, so most of the relishing was done by my husband, who had only good things to say about it, in between mouthfuls.

Here's one that escaped his chopsticks and landed on the pavement. We could only look on despondently...

Dream home space

The home of designers John Meyers and Linda Wary. Gorgeous, isn't it? I wish I had the same guts and sensibilities for form and colour! I want my house to look like this!!

*SIGH*

Shanghai was super!

Such a vibrant, modern city... I never knew. From the skyscrapers, the sheer number of people rushing up and down, you can just sense the city's looming massive potential. No wonder anyone who is clued into the future of the business world is clamouring to polish up on their Mandarin.

But what truly took my breath away were the former government buildings and banks along the Shanghai Bund. Gorgeous, gorgeous Art Deco and Neo-classical buildings, inside and out, some gloriously restored, and some in very sorry states. They were absolutely amazing.

But, as far as I can see, the present Shanghai has yet to live up to its past. From the oldest most dilapidated "skyscraper" from the 1920s, you can tell Shanghai used to be one of the most exciting cities to be in, even more so than London, New York or Paris at that time. As a matter of fact, Shanghai once had the tallest building, and the fastest elevator in the world...

For now, just words. I will put up some pics as soon as I get round to downloading them from the camera...

Right now, I have a couple of orders to complete... :)

Shanghai here I come...
