New in the Shop!
Here are the completed works-in-progress, up and available at the MAYA & RUHI Etsy shop. Two pairs of earrings perfect for Spring/Summer, and a drop-dead unique ring crafted from little wooden nuggets.
I am loving the boho-glam feel, from the au naturel woodgrain against the gold-brass. And how the wire-wrapping is rocking the organic shape of the nuggets.

My Spring Fashion
It's proper heartwarmer-weather nowsadays. And I love it! So glad I don't have to wear my heartwarmer as Super Burly Scarf anymore. I love how it looks super-chic with a touch of Jane Eyre!

Scenes of Spring
I think it is safe to say that Spring has finally sprung.
For the past couple of weeks, the weather had been somewhat crazy, going below 5 degrees one day, and then well into the teens the next.
But now, it looks like temperatures have pretty much stabilized. I have even had to whip my sunglasses out to use, and have not worn my heavy coat for sometime now.
The days are getting longer, birds are singing away, bees are buzzing about, and even people seem to have more bounce in their steps.
Here's to hoping Mother Nature does not go bipolar on us again for now...

New Stuff at the Shop
I've been sufficiently productive.
Playing around with old formats in new material, and vice-versa. There are a few more pieces of works in progress on the worktable - you know how I get bored with making one earring and have to come back to making the other side in a couple of days.
Truth be told, my neck is a bit messed up and can't take too much of crafting, crocheting or reading for too much of a stretch nowsadays... But I digress.
These here are up and available in the Etsy shop (just click on the captions to get there.)

Killer Wallpaper
This, my friend, takes some serious balls.
When I first saw these images, I clutched at my collar, gasping for air, in a state of bewitchment over how loud, chaotic and achingly beautiful these are.
This is the genius of Catalina Estrada, who sort of reminds me of my fave Frida Kahlo. Not just her dark, exotic look complete with flowers in her hair, but also her unabashed, almost reckless, use of colour and mind-blasting form and fantasy.
And I LOVE how there's crochet in her aesthetic. See if you can spot crocheted items in the set-ups.
Feast your eyes, my friend...

No Satisfaction
I have developed a rather unhealthy addiction to Mixed Fruit Tart and Pinterest. No relation, I think.
For some odd reason, I have now a Sweet Tooth. Not so much the Chocolate type, but so the Mixed Fruit Tart type. I have scoured the Village for the best Mixed Fruit Tart, and the best is at Bayley and Sage, with it's not-too-sweet crust and its towering portion of fruit.
As for Pinterest, I started after reading about a fellow Etsy seller's adventures on it. And since I started, I have found myself having to prise myself off the computer. Or reluctantly, but determinedly, click the Close Window X.
In case you're (p)interested, here I am http://pinterest.com/mayaruhi/. Just a collection of stuff that, I think, says Me. And ever so useful for Doldrum Days, when I feel like crafting but have no idea what...
And, yes, superb for collecting Mixed Fruit Tart porn... :)

Spot the Difference(s)
I can't believe this weather. I mean, I've always heard about "the crazy English weather", but this is seriously maddening. I don't know how the flora and fauna cope with this place...
Less than a month back everything was blanketed in snow, and blizzarding at -6 degrees C. Then a week later it was bright and sunny and well into the teens. We all thought Spring had sprung, glad to be rid of our big heavy coats and chunky scarfs, traipsing about in the sunshine.
But as of 2 days ago, temperatures plummeted and we're back to blight. So it's back to trudging across the Common head-on against the wind, complete with tears and snot. Apparently, it might even hail. Altogether, not a pretty sight.
Bi-polar of what, huh? O_O

New Stuff in the Shop!
The BOHO Drop Turquoise, Sandstone, Lavender Jade |
The SUNSHINE Drop Fuchsia Agate, Carnelian, Faceted Glass |
I call these my Drops...
The CLEOPATRA Drop Turquoise, Sodalite, Faceted Glass |
The REGALE Drop Rutilated Quartz, Sodalite, Onyx |
I love how the Drops are simple, delicate and elegant. And depending on the colour/stone scheme, can exude and depict such strong character. They also swing about ever so sweetly on the lobes. Absolutely dah-ling!
